How to Save Premium Dollars

How to Save Premium Dollars

With APEI's Loss Control Premium Credit Program, members have the opportunity to save considerably on their premiums. A member reaching the maximum credit amount will receive 15% off the APEI portion of their workers' comp and general liability premiums as well as 4% off the APEI portion of their property premium. By conducting inspections, having safety committees, and training your employees properly, you will create an environment where the employees know you care about safety, you care about them, want them to be injury free, and your organization could save a lot of money through the Premium Credit Program. Employee Training

APEI offers many opportunities for our members to save money. One of the easiest ways is to utilize the Safety Equipment and Training Grant. APEI will reimburse up to $1,000 for purchases that are applied towards safety training or equipment, including personal protective equipment. Our members get very creative in the equipment they purchase. The Yaktrax and GripOns traction cleats seem to be the most frequently used item for the grant. They provide greater stability for winter walking and reduce the risk of slips, trips, and falls.      Investment in safety equipment and training also helps raise awareness of the importance of safety and its value to your employees.

For more information on APEI’s Safety Equipment and Training Grant, check your loss control manual or contact Cole Cummins, your loss control manager, at ccummins@akpei.com.
